About Me
I graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2005 with a B.Sc (Hons) in Clinical Speech & Language studies and I am now an experienced paediatric Senior Speech & Language therapist working predominantly in paediatric primary care services, both within the HSE in Ireland, and in Perth, Western Australia. Over this time I have gained valuable experience working with children and their families to support a variety of communication needs.
My areas of special interest include: phonological delay and disorder, language delay and disorder (Developmental Language Disorder (DLD); articulation (speech sound) delay/disorder and dysfluency (stuttering).
I enjoy working collaboratively with children, their families, schools and other professionals (if involved), to support the child in reaching their full potential.
I work together with the child and their family to carry out a detailed and comprehensive assessment, to identify communication strengths and needs, and to develop an individualised therapy programme to best support the child’s communication needs.
I offer practice and functional strategies for incorporating therapy goals into everyday life. I incorporate play and fun activities to encourage the child’s engagement in therapy, as well as provision of practical tools and strategies that can be used at home to achieve the best possible outcomes for the child.
